#PreeThis – More and more Jamaicans are signing up for SponsoredTweets, a simple yet comprehensive advertising platform for Twitter. SponsoredTweets connects advertisers with tweeters who are willing to share their message with followers. A true marketplace; tweeters set their price; advertisers select tweeters targeted by location, content, followers etc.
I was introduced to SponsoredTweets a few months ago and like many, I was skeptical of it’s earning potential. The ‘tweeter’ sign-up was free and simple using my twitter account. With over 1,000, followers my account (@iniQiti) was commanding a whopping USD$1.10 per tweet. The surprises didn’t end there, the real shocker came as I read the following…
“When a tweeter signs up using one of your links or badges you will receive 10% of SponsoredTweets portion of revenue for each successful transaction that Tweeter makes. If you sign up an Advertiser you will earn 5% of Sponsored Tweets earnings for each transaction they make.” -SponsoredTweets
I began to pree’ how much tweeters who signed up earlier or own high traffic websites like @TOP5JAMAICA was making. After signing up with the @Claja_Jamaica account, I decided to add a few affiliate links to Claja and the Jamaican Classified listings. Within a few days I referred over 15 tweeters and 4 advertisers… my DM box has been filled ever since. 5cents here 10cents there, the occasional offer, 2cents here daily hourly and it all adds up to EXTRA money in my pocket. This is the REAL CASHPOT, lol.
There are 200+ and growing- Jamaican twitter accounts using SponsoredTweets. Where ever there is a hustle, you will always find a few Jamaican’s hustlin’. A few notable Jamaican sponsored tweeters include @Cadai, @Reesy11, @ST_SANj, @Sweetpersona and @TOP5JAMAICA. Why not get paid to do something you’re already doing?
Here are a few tips if you decide to give it a try:
- Sign up as a ‘TWEETER’ to get paid and as an advertiser to advertise.
- Remember to set your tweet price slightly lower than suggested until the advertisers get used to you.
- Turn ON all DM notifications so you won’t miss out on any opportunities.
