W3C Validation, Faster Search with Recommendations, Fixes

Validating your code can speed up your site, help find bottlenecks and benefit your SEM. The addition of new Facebook social plug-ins and opengraph properties became an issue when trying to validate Claja.com to W3C standards; a solution was found. You may also notice a few aesthetic changes to the site that provide for a better experience and navigation. 80% of the site has been validated.

Other updates and upgrades:

• Claja search algorithm was tweaked a bit, making it faster. Facebook recommendations were also added to results.
• 90% of known I.E. issues were removed WITHOUT the use of hacks or ‘ie fix’ codes.
• Claja short url (beta) is running; now you can ‘jump’ to any listing using the ad# alone. This will be implemented further with a jump-box and widgets.

• AdBrite has replaced Google Adsense as our ad server, allowing for users, small and large business to control ad campaigns on the Claja network.
• The ‘re-send confirmation/edit email’ feature now sends 1 message with a list of all ads posted, instead of 1 email per ad.

Scheduled maintenance tonight from 6pm to 6am tomorrow, the site should run as normal; if you notice anything– don’t be alarmed,, the Lionfish are eating everything.
