So many Jamaican classified services; one Claja.
After virally’ searching the Internet for similar services (our competition), my view on the state of Jamaican Classifieds and web services has only been re-inforced; most small business/sites bombard viewers with advertising, clouding their actual value. When will our webmasters realize that core SEO and social media integration will produce a better bottom line, even while scaling back their ineffective advertising efforts. Furthermore, the use of graphics, colors and java has it’s limits before they affect user-friendliness. Don’t get me wrong, I am not bashing out on other services, the ones who fall under the scopeĀ know who they are.
I have noticed many services experimenting with CMS use, blogging software and social media, and I commend them for it. But how many are creating their own? As an island nation some expect us to lag behind in technological advancements- I do not. Technology and information moves at a rate exponentially faster in a modern web x.0 world. As an island nation, with a smaller population, we should be able to adapt to new technologies faster (ie Singapore, Caymans, Ireland).
At Claja, we pledge not to force our user’s ads into competition with our own, while employing new standards and technologies only when they provide a real functional benefit to our users. (period)
